Project Mumbai - Wheelchair Basketball

The Mumbai Wheelchair Basketball Team's courage and perseverance have deeply moved me, and I am eager to support their mission to break down barriers and promote inclusivity. Through this campaign, we aim to support wheelchair basketball players who face significant challenges due to limited access to specially designed wheelchairs, training facilities, and financial support.

The Mumbai Wheelchair Basketball Team, supported by Project Mumbai, promotes inclusivity and empowers individuals with disabilities through sports. Your contribution will help bridge the gap in their resources, enabling them to continue their remarkable work.

Supporting a single player costs just INR 80,000 per year, which includes weekly practices, travel allowance, health, coaching, and equipment expenses. That works out to INR 20L per annum. Additionally, they need INR 42L for importing specialized wheelchairs designed for competitive basketball, enabling their players to perform at their best during tournaments. Another INR 40L will go into an IPL style basketball league for men and women to create an event that will make a longer-term impact on the sport and players. Lastly, INR 8L is earmarked for new talent and their training and equipment costs. All these 4 expense heads add up to INR 110L (1.1CR).
